Marine Rescue Jurien Bay Group’s 2025/2026 Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday, 23 October 2025 with a good attendance of Life Members, volunteers and social members. All Committee positions were declared vacant followed by the election of our new Committee.
Elected Committee Members are:
Office Bearers:
Commander - Chrissy Heu
Deputy Commander - Kym Vukusich
Secretary - Raelene Newnham
Treasurer - Carla Reger
Committee:
Mike Cockburn (Bosun), Dolly Lucas (Training Co-ordinator), Connie Holder, Valerie Boucher, Scott Vince and Chris Ams. Congratulations to all newly elected Committee Members.
Thank you to everyone who attended. Special guests were Jan and Sandra Randall (wife and daughter of our late life member Robin Randall) and Peter Scharf who kindly agreed to be the Chairman for the election of our Committee Members. Thank you, Peter, you did a fantastic job!!

Appreciation gifts were also given to the wonderful Pen Check team of Sharon Stiles, Dolly Lucas, Ali Bates, Margaret Bown and to our Home Base Radio Operators - Sharon Stiles, Kym Vukusich, Jan Ackland, Riff Reeve and Chrissy Heu and also to Pat Lucas for keeping our premises looking ‘ship shape' and for taking those many donated 'containers for change' in to be recycled for cash for our Group - thank you all!
To every single one of our members who volunteer their valuable personal time and experience (often at a moment's notice), who commit to completing the necessary training pathways, who race from work, family events, or a nice warm bed in the middle of the night when a call for help comes in - THANK YOU for everything you do to help keep our boating community safe.

Lastly, but most importantly, in honour of our late Life Member, Robin Randall, who contributed so much to Marine Rescue Jurien Bay, we presented the Inaugural 'Robin Randall Perpetual Award for Outstanding Service'. This award was voted on by secret ballot of all of our members, and was presented by Robin's wife Jan and daughter Sandra. The very deserving inaugural winner of this award was our extremely hard-working Commander - Chrissy Heu - who wears so many hats and is an outstanding and knowledgeable leader and contributor of our Group. Congratulations Chrissy!!
