2025 VERA Awards

On Friday, 7 November 2025, our Commander, Chrissy and Bosun, Mike, (and Michelle) attended the 2025 Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards (VERA) held at ANZAC House in Perth. 

The VERA awards are hosted by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and continue to highlight the crucial partnerships between employers, volunteers and emergency agencies across the State.

The awards celebrate and recognise the selfless self-employed volunteers, and work places, who support our volunteers to keep our communities safe.  These volunteers put their own livelihoods on hold to “drop tools” at all hours of the day and night and in all sorts of weather conditions to attend emergencies in our communities.

Congratulations to our worthy recipient, Mike Cockburn, for his tireless commitment to our Group and the Jurien Bay Community.
