August Activities

There has not been much boating activity recently due to the stormy weather.   However, on Saturday, 10 August at 0800 hours, Marine Rescue Jurien Bay had some of our crew refueling R1 “Ocean Watch” and training in the Bay.   Shortly after, at 0832 hours, we received a call-out from a boatie, located south of Boullanger, with motor problems, who required a tow-in back to the Marina.  

Mike, Kym, Chrissy and Andrew attended with new volunteers Cameron Smith, Scott Vince and Edwin Eilbeck.  Well done to all involved and “welcome aboard” to Cameron, Scott and Edwin!!  A huge thank you to the boatie for their kind donation to our Group.

Shortly after at 1016 hours, the crew participated in more training in the Bay and also provided assistance to another boatie when rope became entangled around their propeller. Many thanks to Cameron who rectified the problem – one very happy boatie!
