EPIRB Activation

On Friday, 13 September 2024 an EPIRB was activated in the Jurien Bay area.   It was discovered that the activation had occurred on land, most likely at the Shire of Dandaragan’s Waste Facility.   EPIRBs need to be disposed of responsibly to avoid accidental activation and MUST NOT be placed in household rubbish bins as they will end up in landfill and be inadvertently activated or possibly create bush fires.

The Shire of Dandaragan Jurien Bay Waste Facility accepts all expired EPIRBS and flares during opening hours.
