On the morning of Saturday, 15 October a fund-raising Garage Sale was held at our Marine Rescue Tower from 0900 to 1300 – lots of bargains, especially Xmas decorations – thank you to all those who attended and a big thank you to Connie and Chrissy for making it all happen!! Watch this space for the next one!!
On the weekend of Saturday, 8 and Sunday, 9 October some of our crew travelled to Geraldton to complete their Pathways “Towing and Rafting” and “Marine Navigation Basic” courses. A huge thank you to Mike Cockburn, Craig Hamann and Brook Lawson for making the time to achieve these qualifications.
Our Training Officer, Robin Randall, delivered a short-range VHF Radio Course to our new Radio Operator Kym Vukusich, Craig and Brook (both crew) and Graham Taylor from Leeman VMR on Saturday, 15 October. Although the delivery was face-to-face the assessment was through the Office of Maritime Communications new on-line assessment portal using “Axcelerate” – a new experience for all of us! Thank you to Kym, Craig, Brook and Graham for your patience and understanding during the process and a huge thank you to Robin for presenting the course!
