Visit from Jurien Bay District High School Students

On Thursday, 23 June 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting the year 11/12 Marine and Maritime Studies Course students from Jurien Bay District High School when they visited and toured our facilities and vessels. They were accompanied by their teacher, Rachel Marsden. Thank you to our tour guides Mike, Wayne, Craig and Brook and radio operator Connie. We hope the students, and Rachel, enjoyed themselves. Perhaps they will sign up, as a Volunteer, with our Group sometime in the future! We wish them all every success with their studies and future endeavours.

On Tuesday, 21 June, Rescue 2 (“Bay Watch”) was deployed to a vessel requiring assistance with Mike Cockburn, Craig Hamann and Brook Lawson on board. The vessel was safely towed back to the Marina. Thank you to our Crew and two radio operators – Jan and Kym. Well done everyone.

A big thank you to Shane and Lee Scholes for their generous donation of two GoPro cameras for our rescue vessels – one on Rescue 1 (“Crikey”) and Rescue 2 (“Bay Watch”). One of the cameras was used during the rescue above – view the action and a sample of what’s to come by visiting our Facebook page.

On Thursday, 23 June 2022 someone tried to break in to Rescue 1 (“Crikey”). If you want to be a crew member for our Group, please come up to our Tower and sign up. If not, please stay OFF our vessels. The authorities have been notified. Any information please contact Jurien Police on 9652 0600 or our Tower on 9652 1950.

A HUGE THANK YOU to RICK KRIEG for making our unique sign. If you would like to join our Group our contact details are on the banner. Thank you to our glamorous models – Raelene and Carla – for showcasing our new sign.
