We're a Winner!!

WOOHOO!!! Marine Rescue Jurien Bay just won the Department of Transport Marine Safety Award at the WAFES Gala Dinner and Awards night on 11 September 2021!!! A terrific effort from all of our volunteers - well done and thanks for being such an awesome group of people to work with!!!

Congratulations to all winners and finalists in this year’s WA Fire and Emergency Services Awards. The awards ceremony brought together career and volunteer firefighters, DFES personnel, SES and Marine Rescue volunteers from all across our State, to showcase and celebrate outstanding achievements in emergency services!

Thank you to Minister Reece Whitby MLA and our Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM.

On Friday, 10 September our two attendees at the WAFES Conference, Chrissy and Carla, had a "Hull of a Time" at HMAS Stirling Naval Base on Garden Island. In Carla’s own words “thanks so much to the Navy guys and gals for hosting the event and putting on a great display - you were awesome! Got to see some of the submarines and ships that protect and serve our country, as well as watching a simulated helicopter fire drill, ship fire, and ship flood drills. Marine Rescue Rockingham then hosted our lunch, and showed us around their wonderful facilities and Rescue vessel - thank you so much! Followed by a Welcome Sundowner at the beautiful 'Burswood on Swan' - all set against the spectacular backdrop of our beautiful city, and Optus Stadium which was hosting the preliminary final. Congratulations Demons!”
