Jeremy McClure - circumnavigation of the Islands swim

ree

On Saturday, 3 December, "Bay Watch" departed at 0600hrs for training with Mike Cockburn, Craig Hamann and Andrew Stevens on board. Vessel support was provided for Jeremy McClure, a blind swimmer, record breaker and four times Paralympian, who swims massive distances in open water, and retains 2% of his vision. Jeremy was attempting to circumnavigate the Islands swimming from the Jurien Bay jetty with support boats, kayakers and swimmers in attendance. At 1000 hours, the crew was replaced with Wayne Harston, Chrissy Heu and Mick Burdon for the last leg of the swim. Thank you to our wonderful radio operators, Connie Holder and Eve Trutwein. It was a magnificent effort by Jeremy and all his "Swim Jurien Blind" support team.
