On the 5 th February, we had a visit from Lala, Ethan and Levi from KMAC Wedge Island Aboriginal Rangers who completed their Recreational Skippers Tickets (RST) with our local, Graham Morris. In a boat, the combination of wind, waves and the sun can all magnify the effects of alcohol and negatively impact your judgement and skills. On Sunday night, 7 December 2025, at 2120 to 2340 hours, following an EPIRB activation, our Rescue One was deployed with Mike, Chrissy, Scott and Chris onboard to retrieve three persons located 9 nm North-West in their 7.2 metre vessel. Our crew were unable to tow their vessel back to the marina due to the rough conditions. ATTENTION ALL SKIPPERS: Keep a look out at Jurien Bay Boat Harbour Skippers navigating the harbour need to stay vigilant over the next few months as 50,000 cubic metres of material is removed as part of regular maintenance dredging.
